What do you enjoy about the work you do at Key?

I have many years of experience in the field of UX/UI, but Financial Services is new for me. I'm excited about Key's mission to help clients and communities thrive by empowering them through Financial Wellness. Bringing human-centered design and experience to the Financial Wellness products at KeyBank is both what I enjoy and the reason I wanted to work with the Financial Wellness team in Washington, D.C. The talented individuals that I get to work with are what motivate me each day. I'm lucky to be surrounded by a truly remarkable group of bright ideas and minds. It's an honor to develop tools that help people understand their finances better.

What is leadership like in your department?

Leadership in our department, from both the Financial Wellness team and the Digital team, has embraced the human aspect that KeyBank's UX/UI teams bring to our clients. I believe that leadership understands our mission to empower our clients to make informed financial decisions. We are building products to help KeyBank make meaningful impacts on the financial lives of our clients. Key has a collaborative environment, where leadership is always willing to listen to what I have to say. They will make time to listen, engage and exchange points of view. I find that leadership is accessible at Key and open to the possibility to change.

Do you feel your results are rewarded?

The result of the teamwork is both seen and rewarded. I'm lucky to work with a group of talented designers, strategists and researchers. We work with developers, business analysts, scrum masters and product owners, who enable us to create beautiful designs and experiences for our internal and external clients, bringing to life their hard work. Together we build best-in-class experiences that have received accolades and praise like the Financial Wellness Review.

As a manager, I encourage my team to recognize milestone achievements along the way. We take the time to celebrate our releases and successes.

How has Key contributed to your career development?

Key's contribution to my career development is ongoing. We invest in and provide development opportunities for employees at all levels of the organization, so they can build long-term careers that are as unique as they are. I lead a talented group of UX/UI designers. Bringing an experience focused on the financial well-being of our clients continues to challenge me and increase my skillset in the way I approach human-centered design.
