As a responsible citizen, we bring our values to life by fully participating in our communities, which means going beyond bank products and services. By understanding the unique character and needs of each our communities, from Alaska to Maine, we provide meaningful philanthropy that transforms lives. Our contributions take many forms including: KeyBank Foundation grants, charitable sponsorships, employee matching gift program, grants to nonprofits where our employees serve as board members, in-kind gifts, and volunteerism. Key gives an average of $18 million each year in the form of philanthropy, corporate contributions, and volunteerism.
Grants: KeyBank Foundation, a nonprofit charitable foundation funded by KeyCorp, focuses on transformational grants in three areas that foster economic success: financial education, workforce development and diversity.
Charitable Sponsorships and Community Support: KeyBank is proud to support our communities through charitable sponsorships and partner with nonprofit organizations on community events. To request support, please apply here.
Matching Gifts: Key matches, dollar-for-dollar, KeyBank employee donations to nonprofit organizations. When Key employees demonstrate their community commitment by serving on the boards of charitable organizations, we provide an additional match to their gifts, as well as a community leadership grant to the nonprofit. Key employees initiate this process.
Volunteerism: Key's Neighbors Make the Difference® Day, which started in 1993 with a small group of employees in Alaska, has evolved into an annual bank-wide day of volunteerism across Key’s 12-state footprint. In 2013, Neighbors Day mobilized nearly 7,000 KeyBank volunteers from Alaska to Maine, who donated more than 28,000 work hours to community nonprofits.
