How to Score Great Hamilton Seats for Only $10, and What to Know Before You Go.
KeyBank Broadway Series is proud to present HAMILTON, one of the hottest shows to hit Broadway. HAMILTON tells the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, a West Indian immigrant who rose to become George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the country’s first Treasury Secretary.
KeyBank Funding Made It Happen
It’s a moment Cleveland theater fans have been waiting for for months, if not years: the arrival of HAMILTON to the KeyBank State Theatre at Playhouse Square.
HAMILTON is the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, HAMILTON is the story of America then, as told by America now.
Everyone has a chance to buy orchestra seats for only $10 through a special lottery.
“The producers really want everyone to have a chance to see this show,” said Cindi Szymanski, senior manager, brand marketing and communications, Playhouse Square.
See full details on how the lottery works. And, for those lucky enough to score tickets, Szymanksi offers tips for planning a visit, geared especially toward first-time visitors.
“Because of the unique nature of this show, HAMILTON is attracting a lot of first-time visitors to Playhouse Square, as well as some first-time visitors to Cleveland,” said Szymanski. “We know for example that people from Columbus and Pittsburgh are coming here to see the show, because those cities have Broadway show venues but they don’t have HAMILTON yet.”
Where to Stay
For those planning to stay downtown, Playhouse Square recommends the recently rebranded and remodeled Crowne Plaza hotel, which is just a 5-minute walk from the theater.
Where to Park
The most convenient place to park is the Playhouse Square Garage at E. 15th and Chester, which offers a covered walkway into the theaters.
Where to Eat
There are several great restaurants within walking distance of the theater, including Hofbrauhaus, Cowell & Hubbard, Cibreo, and Ghost Light.
When to Arrive
“We recommend arriving at least 45 minutes before the start of the show,” said Szymanski. “This will allow visitors plenty of time to be seated, as well as time to take in the craftsmanship and beauty of the nearly 100-year-old KeyBank State Theatre, which recently underwent a major historic restoration.”
And the final tip? Sit back and enjoy the show!
