Online Banking Technical Requirements

KeyBank wants your Online Banking experience to be easy and convenient. Review the following browser and cache requirements to ensure your Online Banking session runs hassle-free:

Browser Requirements:

  • Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher, Firefox 2.0 or higher, or Chrome 16.0 or higher (to determine your browser version, click Help and About (browser name))
  • 128-bit encryption
  • Browser set to accept cookies
  • Use recommended cache settings
  • JavaScript MUST be enabled

Cache is a temporary holding place in your computer memory. It is often labeled as "temporary Internet files." As you visit Internet sites, certain pieces of the page such as graphics are stored in the cache. Your browser looks for pieces of the page to be stored in the cache so that it can be more efficient when loading and re-loading sites which you visit often.

Due to the real-time nature of Online Banking, an incorrect setting could cause your browser to store account information. Upon re-visiting Online Banking, the browser may re-load the "old" account information from its cache instead of the new information from the site. Use these recommended cache settings for Online Banking:

Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher:

  • Select Tools from the Menu
  • Select Internet Options
  • Select Settings from the Temporary Internet Files (cache) section
  • Select "Every Visit to the Page" option

Firefox 2.0 or higher:

  • Select Tools from the Menu
  • Clear Private Data
  • Verify cookies are unchecked
  • Select "Clear Private Data Now" button

Chrome 16.0 or higher:

  • Select the wrench icon at the end of the address bar and go to History
  • Click the “Clear all browsing data” button
