Look after your identity … or lose it.

Anyone with enough of your personal information could access your accounts, steal your money and wreck your credit. Don’t let identity theft happen to you – take steps to help protect yourself before it’s too late.

  • Don’t leave a paper trail.

Shred documents containing personal or financial information before discarding. Replace paper statements with electronic versions and Bill Pay options.

    Pay attention

If you stop receiving your regular bill or statement, contact the company immediately. Be sure to review your credit report at least once a year.

  • Stay on guard over the phone

Never provide personal information during an unsolicited phone call. If you are uncomfortable with a phone call that was not initiated by you, hang up!

    Prepare for the worst

Make photocopies of the contents of your wallet. If your purse or wallet is lost or stolen, you’ll have contact information and account numbers readily available.
