Key supports employees who have lost a loved one with time off, funeral concierge services and resources to help them through the grief.
Time off from work with pay is available in the event of the death of a family member.
Funeral concierge services
Funeral concierge services are available through The Hartford. They help you make confident, informed decisions, understand your options and stay within your budget and include:
- 24/7 advisor assistance and personal support from licensed funeral directors
- Access to a nationwide database of funeral home prices and detailed online price comparisons
- Unlimited use of online funeral pre-planning research and knowledge tools
- Cost negotiation resulting in significant savings
Grief counseling and legal/financial assistance
Grief counseling is available through the Live Well & Thrive | Employee Support & Wellness Program for you and your family members (up to 6 sessions at no cost per family member) affected by the loss of a loved one. Employees can call the program directly to find a counselor and schedule an appointment.
In addition, after the loss of a loved one, The Hartford provides you, your eligible beneficiaries and immediate family members with legal advice, financial planning and emotional counseling for up to one year from the date the claim is filed. Up to five sessions are included.
Financial assistance for hardship events, including the loss of a spouse, is also available through Key’s Hardship Relief Program.
