The Central District has been the home of the Black African-American community for over 140 years.
What we are doing is focusing on bringing our community back.
The vision for this community is that the descendants of those who have been here have an opportunity to continue to be here, and to be able to grow and thrive and build on the legacies that their parents and grandparents and great grandparents have established.
People now believe that they can own a home. They can start a business and not only just start a business, but have a successful business, within the Central District.
It really is about not just what we're doing today, but developing our young people to be the builders and stewards and sustainers of our community tomorrow.
