About the internship
KBREC will hire interns across many geographies like Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, and New York City. Intern group assignments may include Commercial Mortgage Group, Community Development Lending, Income Property Group, Institutional Capital Group, and Key Commercial Investor Services.
Business segments
- Commercial Mortgage Group – CMG delivers capital solutions to our core internal Borrower client segments (Income Property, Institutional Capital Group, and Healthcare) and investment opportunities to our Investor base.
- Community Development Lending & Investment – The CDLI team is focused on providing debt and equity capital for the development of affordable housing and other community commercial real estate reinvestment development projects that benefit low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.
- Income Property Group – IPG is a national platform that provides project finance solutions for new development, acquisition/repositioning of existing assets, and the purchase/long-term hold of stable assets to regional and national private real estate owners.
- Institutional Capital Group – ICG is affiliated with the broader KeyBank Real Estate Capital platform. Specifically, ICG is focused on the unique capital and banking needs of public and private REITs, real estate operating companies, real estate fund sponsors, and real estate private equity firms.
- Key Commercial Investor Services – KCIS provides comprehensive support to lenders, bondholders, and government agencies by delivering due diligence, risk mitigation, asset management, and investor reporting services across a diverse commercial real estate portfolio, from loan closing through payoff.
Required Qualifications
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program with coursework in finance, real estate, or a related field
- Outstanding academic achievement (minimum 3.3 GPA preferred)
- Relevant experience preferred
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities
