Perspective During COVID-19

"Right now, every business owner or business executive is making decisions very, very quickly. It’s important right now to use your network, your relationships and your mentors because everyone has a blind spot," said Lundbeck. "What don’t you see and who can help you see it?"

"You are your most vulnerable self with those in your close circle. These are the people who help bring unstructured chaos into focus," Lundbeck continued. "Use your network for strength and clarity."


Lundbeck, a digital advertising executive, also has advice for brands, marketers and business owners as they navigate through the effects of the pandemic. "If you can – and if your message is relevant – keep communicating. We have a lot of research at Spectrum Reach about maintaining a presence during global events that shook up the world," Lundbeck said. "This is an opportunity to solidify your place in your market. Remember, though, that your message right now should be one of helpfulness, not an opportunistic sales pitch."

Also, business owners and marketers should audit their company’s digital profile at this time. Do you have adjusted hours, limited/expanded services or emergency phone numbers? Editing your digital profile ensures that those using search to find your business have the most accurate information about your company.

An Enlightening Observation

"I’ve never seen work and home life become so intertwined," said Lundbeck. Children, parents, spouses and pets have all become part of our "new normal" workday. They are seen on video chats and heard on conference calls.

"There is a floodlight on the meshing of work and home life right now," Lundbeck commented. "It’s encouraging to see the support for flexible, and even unconventional, work arrangements. Perhaps the pandemic has pushed us to a new level of thinking on this topic."
