October 28th: From Passenger to Driver: Women's Wealth Drives Bold Philanthropy
Speaker: Dr. Mesch, Director of Women's Philanthropy Institute (WPI) at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy
Women are in the philanthropy driver’s seat, given their $5.15 trillion in assets, and the equal or higher amount they are inheriting due to the intergenerational transfer of wealth. In most houses they make or influence the philanthropic decisions. Consumer companies market products towards women — they get that women control the majority of wealth in this country and are the household’s chief financial officers.
In this session you will learn:
- What research says about the changing philanthropic landscape and strategies that appeal to women.
- Why engaging women in philanthropy is smart and transformative as women hold the key to philanthropy in the 21st century.
