April 30: Impact and Influence - How breaking old rules can make you a powerful and authentic presenter and businesswoman.

Speaker: Karen Hough, Founder & CEO of ImprovEdge

If presentations really didn’t matter, we’d all just send memos. In business, giving presentations (whether it’s to 2 or 2,000 people) is an important skill to master because it’s linked to personal brand and executive presence - part of why people get promoted, win deals, and move up. Authenticity and passion win people over, not polish. That’s why people trust blogs more than commercials and user reviews more than ads. And you can’t be authentic if you’re following someone else’s outdated rules. Takeaways from this session include:

  • What it means to be your authentic self in front of an audience
  • 3 outdated presentation rules to break right now
  • What the real purpose of any presentation should be
