Dan Baker

Dan Baker is an Executive Vice President and Head of the Commercial Mortgage Group, where he leads KeyBank’s real estate debt capital markets team. His team provides KeyBank’s institutional and middle-market commercial real estate clients access to capital markets executions, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, CMBS, Life Companies, FHA, CTL, and separate accounts. KeyBank’s platform is broad, with expertise across every segment of commercial real estate lending, including conventional multifamily, affordable housing, senior housing, healthcare, office, retail, industrial, and hospitality.

Dan has more than 30 years of real estate capital markets experience. Prior to his current role, he served as CMBS Program Manager, where he was responsible for the implementation and execution of the commercial mortgage group’s commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) strategy, including loan screening, structuring, pricing, and securitization. Prior to rejoining KeyBank in 2009 (having previously been with the firm from 1997 to 2004), Dan ran the Chicago office for Barclays Capital, where his team originated CMBS and balance-sheet loans throughout the Midwest.

Dan earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of Missouri and an MBA from Rockhurst University. He is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, ICSC, NMHC, and CREFC, and serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Hope Ignites of Illinois.
