President, Community Development Lending and Investment, Affordable Housing

Rob Likes is President of KeyBank’s Community Development Lending & Investment group (CDLI), where he leads a national team of community development professionals, with annual loan and investment production in excess of $5 billion. Under his leadership, CDLI has been rated the second-largest affordable housing capital provider in the U.S. Rob is also responsible for the management and oversight of a portfolio of more than 1,000 loans and investments totaling several billion dollars in commitments. Prior to his current role, he served as the Northwest Regional Executive for Key’s Income Property Group and, before that, as the Western Region Credit Executive for the Income Property Group.

Rob has more than 30 years of real estate banking experience. During this time, he has worked for the Resolution Trust Corporation/FDIC, Bank of America, U.S. Bank, and has spent the past 21 years with KeyBank. His experience includes leadership and management, originations of both debt and equity investments, credit, structuring, portfolio management, and loan workouts. He has in-depth experience across all major property types, including apartments (market-rate and affordable), office, retail, industrial, self-storage, and hospitality, as well as a wide range of executions, including acquisition, refinancing, bridge loans, lines of credit, corporate facilities, construction, LIHTC, Section 8, workforce housing, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, Life Company, and CMBS.

Rob serves as a board member of the Rocky Mountain Community Reinvestment Coalition, Cleveland Development Advisors, and the Utah Housing Coalition. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in Business Management and Finance, with additional emphasis in Accounting and Economics, and he completed the Certificate Program in Management for Execution from Cornell University.
