James McLaughlin
Head of Institutional and Healthcare Real Estate Lending
Jim McLaughlin is Head of the Institutional and Healthcare Real Estate Groups at KeyBank, overseeing $14 billion of on-balance-sheet lending activity to institutionally sponsored owners of commercial and healthcare real estate, including public and private REITs and private equity funds. In this role, he has overall responsibility for the business, including marketing, revenue generation, underwriting, capital allocation, credit quality and portfolio management, and leadership of a 60-person team. The role also entails close collaboration with product partners in investment banking, commercial mortgage banking, syndicated finance, and commercial payments.
Jim joined KeyBank in June 2004 as a Senior Banker in the Boston office of the Institutional Capital Group. Prior to joining KeyBank, Jim held various positions beginning in 1999 within FleetBoston’s Structured Real Estate Group. He received a BA in Economics from Providence College in 1986.
