With the revitalization of the Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) markets, Key’s CMBS origination channel returned to strategic, focused activity in 2011. We offer long-term, non-recourse loans that are pooled and securitized. Key commits to retaining servicing of these loans; our highly-rated servicing team ensures client satisfaction throughout the life of the loan.

Key has direct relationships with a diverse group of institutional investor clients who finance commercial and multi-family properties. This group includes both insurance companies and pension funds.

Key has extensive experience in CMBS and Life/Pension solutions. Some recent examples include:

  • $35 million CMBS loan to finance the Tollgate Marketplace Shopping Center for Inland Western Retail REIT
  • $10.5 million Life Company loan to finance an office building at 460 West 34th Street in New York City
  • $8 million Life Company loan to finance the Northpointe retail center in Seattle, Washington
