David Cannon

David Cannon is a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Financial Sponsors Group at KeyBanc Capital Markets (KBCM), which he joined in 2020. Based in New York, he has over 25 years of investment banking experience and leads coverage of private equity clients. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions, debt capital markets, and equity capital markets transactions.
Prior to joining KBCM, David spent 15 years at Wells Fargo, working in both New York and San Francisco, where he covered private equity firms and led both the family office and energy private equity coverage efforts. Earlier in his career, he was with CDG & Co., focusing on M&A and restructuring, after starting his investment banking career in the M&A group at J.P. Morgan.
David earned a BA from the University of Utah, an MS from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
